I’m still in Les Sables and I have been in contact with the crew since Monday. I think Daniel as the skipper is a good choice, he seems to be mature for the task with the correct attitude and approach from the very beginning.

In their latest news, Sunreef yachts publish details of the delivery of the first 74 built in Poland and delivered by Reliance Yacht Management to Florida.
Wildberry, the first Sunreef 74 completes delivery to Florida. She arrived yesterday in Ft Lauderdale to complete its 6000 nm delivery from the yard in Poland.
During the 42 day voyage there were planned stopovers in France and Madeira. At each stage the captain created technical reports which gave valuable feedback to the builders.
The builders, the brokers and most importantly, the Owner were able to follow progress of the delivery via a secure dedicated webpage created by Reliance Yacht Management that gave live updates, positions, speed, weather charts and reports from the captain and shore based support.
On arrival and handover in the Florida the Owner’s representative made the comment, “The boat looks good, everyone has done a great job.”
The Owner later said
Nick, we were on the boat yesterday and it looks great. Your delivery crew did a great job of taking care of it. Captain N is a first class delivery captain and I’d highly recommend him to anyone for a delivery. I was especially pleased to see that you took care of the boat as if it was his own and would deliberately slow his delivery time to avoid pushing the boat more than it should be.
The thoroughness of his delivery report with the “squawks” of what is broken or may warrant attention, including potential improvements, was exactly what I was hoping for.

Lagoon 400 Les Sables to Croatia
Just wanted to let You all know that the handover of the Lagoon 400S2 „Emma“ was done today.
Everything is fine with the boat.
Mr. T is very good, professional and responsible captain and it was pleasure working with him.
The state he brought the boat to seget is highly admirable. Hats off.

Best Delivery Crew Ever. Theses guys stay on the boat for few days and clean the boat, topside and even did the stainless polish. Thing I have not seen from a delivery crew for long time.

The new Sunsail RC044 catamaran departed Cape Town on the 14th December for a delivery trip to the charter base in Phucket, Thailand with an estimated arrival date of the 2nd February. On February 12th, the family of Captain Anthony Murray reported his catamaran as overdue to the Maritime Rescue Co-Ordination Centre (MRCC) in Cape Town. The yacht’s Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) had not been activated.
Skipper Murray was contracted to Tui Marine, a US based company with sailing operations worldwide. He has over 25 years experience at sea, including multiple catamaran deliveries. He is well known within the yacht delivery industry. A capable and experienced yacht captain.

Yacht Delivery Captains Use Diapers. As part of our commitment to deliver yachts in the best condition, clean and presentable our delivery captains go to extraordinary lengths to achieve this. No part of the boat is ignored.
Our captains have learnt to deal with many problems during a delivery and have experienced oil and hydraulic leaks. They never occur at a convenient time and usually in a heavy sea. Inevitably some of the oil can make its way into the bilges, a notoriously difficult place to clean and pumping the oil out is not an option. This is where diapers (or nappies) come to the rescue.
Modern disposable nappies contain a highly absorbent material called polyacrylate. This is trapped inside the nappy layers and can absorb many times its own weight in liquid. When the polyacrylate gets wet it turns into a gel, holding in the oil in the process.
Cleaning the bilges becomes much more manageable.
The delivery of the new Sunreef 74 from Poland continues without a hitch.A quick stopover in Oporto to re provision and change crew before continuing onto Florida. Initial reports from Captain Nicolas are excellent and he expects a quick passage from now on direct to the US.
